Newton Medical Center is seeking anOutpatient Psychiatrist!

Newton Medical Center (NMC) is an acute 160-bed facility primarily serving Sussex and Warren Counties in northwestern New Jersey and adjacent areas of Pennsylvania and New York. NMC has a professional staff representing more than 40 medical specialties and subspecialties.

Behavioral Health services at NMC have been recognized as a premier community-based resource dedicated to identifying and meeting behavioral healthcare needs of people in Sussex County and adjacent areas in order to improve the health and well being of the communities we serve.

Atlantic Behavioral Health at Newton Medical Center have been recognized by the State Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the University of Medicine and Dentistry-Behavioral Health Care of New Jersey for implementing evidence-supported wellness and recovery-oriented approaches and other interventions that reflect professional guidelines, professional-consensus best practices, and promising practices

The position will have the following responsibilities :

• Emergency services andconsultation - liaison to medical units
• Collaborates in improvement, service development and utilization management activities.Outpatient evaluation and counseling
• Outpatient evaluation and counseling for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders
• Collaboration with the community resource center and otherhealth care professionals to offer patient centered care consumer and others as appropriate, and multidisciplinary approaches marked by collaboration with other involved health care professionals.

Board certified in General Psychiatry or Board eligible and must recieve Board certification within 5 years of completion of medical training and within 2 years of hire.
