Assistant Professor- Human Development and Family Science (Tenure-Track)
The Department of Human Development and Family Science in the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics at Syracuse University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position whose research is in the area of child mental health with specific expertise in intervention, assessment, and evaluation. Appointment begins in Fall 2021.
Successful candidates should indicate strong scholarship potential and possess excellent teaching skills. We are interested in hiring faculty whose work is interdisciplinary and cutting edge in its approach to addressing issues of child mental health and well-being. Those with research interests in such areas as development of intervention and prevention programs, translation, and dissemination of evidence-based approaches to address child mental health issues are strongly encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in candidates whose research expertise intersect with departmental strengths in children and families in diverse cultural contexts, self-regulation, families and stress, aging and families, and other related areas of human development. Candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to building a diverse and equitable environment in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply. We also strongly encourage applications from people from historically underrepresented groups.
Applicants for the position must hold a doctoral degree at the time of appointment in child development, human development, family studies, psychology, or a related discipline in the social and behavioral sciences. Record of research productivity, teaching, and service is required. Evidence of pursuing or receiving external funding for research consistent with one’s career stage is expected.
