The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, Psychology Service, is actively recruiting for enthusiastic and qualified Psychologist candidates for immediate opportunities to join our team. Research opportunities are widely available, and most Psychologists are actively involved in our pre- and post-doctoral APA-accredited Professional Psychology training program. Current opportunities include the following: Spinal Cord Injury: (clinical health psychology assessment and interventions for Veterans with complex medical conditions, including a long-term Spinal Cord Injury unit) Polytrauma and other Rehabilitation Services: (specialized clinical health psychology assessment and intervention services for Veterans with history of traumatic brain injury, blindness, or other neurological conditions) Behavioral Medicine - Specialty Clinics: (clinical health psychology assessment and interventions for Veterans with complex cardiovascular conditions or needing solid organ transplant) PTSD Clinical Team (evidence-based trauma assessment and treatment in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment settings) General Mental Health Clinic: (full range of diagnostic assessment and short- and long-term intervention services for Veterans with a variety of mental health care needs) Duties include but are not limited to: Providing a full range of mental health interventions, individual and group psychotherapy, psychoeducational interventions, and care management, demonstrating sensitivity to the special needs of all persons in respect to age, gender, ethnicity, ability/disability status, and culturally-related factors. Providing a full range of diagnostic and evaluation services appropriate to the care setting, especially in the areas of risk assessment and general psychological and diagnostic evaluation of emotional and behavioral status, and focused psychosocial, cognitive, or other assessments to inform care planning. Providing psychological consultation as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Consistent with training and expertise, providing brief and evidenced-based interventions found to be effective in assigned treatment settings. Providing training supervision, lectures or workshops to mental health staff, medical staff, and others in the community. Work Schedule: Tour of duty is M-F, typically with four days 8am-4:30pm or 7:30am-4:00 p.m., and one day with a later/early evening schedule (e.g. 10am - 6:30 p.m.). Alternative or compressed work schedules will be considered (e.g. four 10-hour shifts).
