JOB SUMMARY:
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic tasks, under the supervision of the Physician and clinical team, to assist with establishing a diagnosis and a therapy plan. Assists with gathering and documenting the data necessary to implement the therapeutic plan of care of the Physician and clinical team. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Penn State Health in its efforts to provide quality patient care and superior patient experience. Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with appropriate education and training.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field or equivalent experience require actively pursuing preferred
Participation in training related to psychopathology and therapeutic interventions is required
Current BLS healthcare provider
Non-violent Crisis Intervention training required within six (6) months of date of hire
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Psychological counseling, individual and group behavior and the relationship between social, economic, and psychological factors
Operating principles, major issues, governmental regulations, and code of ethics for the healthcare industry; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to healthcare related situations
Basic computer skills
Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment
Ability to maintain effective working relationship with other employees
Ability to work independently or with limited supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field
