SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for providing leadership in establishing standards of practice for nutritional care and serving as a consultant to clinical dietitians, physicians and other health professionals, providing direct patient care and being responsible for needs assessment, program development and evaluation, in-service education, medical staff education and nutrition research.
Work with a multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment team to provide outpatient nutrition therapy to patients with all eating disorder diagnoses.
Complete comprehensive initial nutrition assessments and follow up sessions with patients and family.
Develop an individualized nutrition rehabilitation plan of care based on assessment findings and client goals-to include meal plan creation and adjustment, weekly goals, supplement recommendations, and behavior change skills.
Provide nutrition education to clients to heal their relationship with food and body using an anti-diet, weight inclusive approach.
Demonstrate an understanding of the medical consequences of eating disorders, the hazards of refeeding, and how to avoid complications.
Complete thorough and timely documentation of patient sessions in the electronic health record.
Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in the electronic health record as needed.
Communicate with referring and/or outpatient support team during the course of treatment as needed.
Participate in clinic staff meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Either: (A) Master's degree plus 2 years of experience required or (B) Bachelor's Degree with an additional job related specialty certification plus 7 years of experience required
